Methodist Chaplaincy House is a reasonably priced, well-maintained home for students in London. The House is spread across two large floors above King’s Cross Methodist Church.
Rents (including all bills) for the academic year 2011/12 are as follows:
- Single Rooms £441 per month
- Shared Rooms £363 per month per person
The rents for the academic year 2012/13 will be decided and published here in March 2012.
There are fourteen single rooms and six shared rooms. Each student is provided with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and chair.
There is a fully-equipped large communal
kitchen with cookers, fridges, freezers,
microwaves, pots and pans, and a large
dining room. Each student has storage
space in both cupboards and the fridge.
The House is centrally heated, and has
showers, a bath, free laundry washing
and drying facilities, and a single guest
room. There is a bicycle shelter and
additional loft storage space.
There is a large common room, a games area (including pool table and table tennis table) and a TV room.
There is a library/computer room. The wireless internet network is available throughout the House. Broadband provision is included in the rent.
The House has its own piano and a roof-top terrace garden. In addition there is a baby grand piano available to those with grade 8 for practice and spaces downstairs in the Church available for rehearsals/meetings when they are not being otherwise used.
Students are normally expected to stay for an academic year, and are welcome to re-apply for further years. There are occasionally vacancies in the course of the academic year.
